Max Bögl and ENERCON extend partnership

Focus on joint expansion of wind energy and sustainable tower technologies

The two companies Max Bögl and ENERCON will continue to work together in the future. The industry pioneers have now extended their cooperation and concluded a new framework agreement for the collaboration.

The continuation of the partnership is the logical response to the cooperation of recent years: "Our alliance is based on mutual trust, which has grown through years of reliable joint work," says Stefan Bögl, CEO of the Max Bögl Group. "We are now continuing to develop our cooperation together on this stable basis." The framework agreement establishes a new supply contract for Hybrid Towers Bögl, thus providing long-term planning security for both companies. Together, they want to continue to drive forward the energy transition.

ENERCON CEO Udo Bauer explains: "The new framework agreement forms the basis for further cooperation. For us, the partnership is another element in meeting growing demand. Together with our supplier partners, we are ensuring that we are able to deliver to our customers during the market upturn."

Legal boost for wind energy

In recent years, the wind industry has seen continuous growth in market demand for tall tower systems for wind turbines in order to best meet the needs of the new generation of turbines. The package of measures published by the German government in May 2023 aims to accelerate the expansion of onshore wind energy in Germany, among other things by removing approval barriers.

"The new framework conditions are having an effect and mean increasing order intake for our hybrid towers."

Josef Knitl, Member of the Board of Max Bögl Wind AG

Reaching new heights together for the energy transition

ENERCON also offers tower variants with solutions from Max Bögl for its new turbines. The Hybrid Towers Bögl impress with hub heights of up to 200 meters, serial production, and cost-effectiveness. In addition, the experienced hybrid tower manufacturer relies on environmentally friendly concrete for the production of prefabricated parts. This is also an important factor for ENERCON, which wants to offer its customers increasingly sustainable tower variants from emission-reduced production—a double win for the energy transition.
