Max Bögl is continuously investing in the expansion of its energy infrastructure at Sengenthal headquarters. The wind turbine near Winnberg adds another source of power to the existing energy cell. In the future, approximately two-thirds of the site’s energy needs will be met by its own facilities.
At the same time, the completion of the wind turbine—with a hub height of 199 meters—marks a technological milestone in hybrid tower technology.

In Winnberg, Max Bögl is not only responsible for the foundation and hybrid tower, but also serves as the project developer, investor, and operator. We handled the following tasks ourselves in this project:

The wind turbine is scheduled to begin operations in the fall of 2026. And it will set a new world record for height: as the tallest series-produced onshore wind turbine! The energy cell at the Sengenthal headquarters, currently equipped with its own photovoltaic systems, a combined heat and power plant, and a battery storage facility, will become even more energy self-sufficient thanks to the wind turbine's direct power supply.
Foundation works
The foundation work has already been completed. The foundation is based on a proven, standardized construction concept using in-situ concrete. It has a diameter of 26.50 meters and a height of 3.40 meters. The location Winnberg is characterized by karstified limestone. To ensure sufficient bearing capacity, the subsoil was reinforced with bored piles.
Concrete tower assembly
The concrete tower has reached a height of 108 meters and forms the foundation for the future hub height of 199 meters.
Transportation of turbine components
The delivery of the large components is a separate project within the project. The rotor blades, which are 84 meters long, pose a particular challenge: To transport them, the curve radii, turning ranges, embankments, and obstacles along the route must be precisely checked and prepared.
Turbine installation
Installing the turbine components is particularly challenging. In addition to a special crane—which is being used at these heights for the very first time—wind speeds must also be taken into account when working at a height of 200 m.
