Complete success at WindEnergy in Hamburg: Max Bögl Wind AG
and Vestas jointly announce the development of the world's tallest wind turbine tower

The expansion of Wind energy is picking up speed again in Europe: The demand for reliable, sustainable and affordable energy sources is higher than it has been for a long time. Nowhere was this more evident than at the WindEnergy trade fair in Hamburg from September 27 to 30. One of the most important technological announcements was made by Max Bögl Wind AG and Vestas on the first day of the fair: together they presented the new V172-7.2MW turbine type, which will be installed on what is currently the world's tallest wind energy tower with a record hub height of 199 meters. For many years now, the two companies have played a key role in developing innovative solutions in the wind industry and bringing them to market.

Record height to increase electricity production

The new wind turbine combines the outstanding T-echnologies of the Max Bögl Group and Vestas. The modular and economical design of the Bögl 2.0 hybrid tower is responsible for the fact that the enormous hub height of 199 meters can be achieved - making it the highest onshore wind energy tower in the world.

In combination with the V172-7.2MW - the new generation of turbines from Vestas - access to stronger and more constant wind is made possible. This development will lead to even more efficient electricity production in Central Europe, further increasing independence from fossil fuels. The new turbine type will be available on the German and Austrian markets from 2025.

"We are delighted that the largest manufacturer of wind turbines has once again chosen our tower solution. The projects realized so far speak for an outstanding cooperation and we are thrilled to be able to work together with Vestas on an innovation that will decisively drive the industry forward. The upswing is clearly noticeable and we look forward to a strong expansion of wind energy in the coming years."

Stefan Bögl, Chairman of the Management Board of the Max Bögl Group
