Start of production at the Emden plant: Max Bögl Group increases production capacity to up to 600 Bögl Hybrid Towers per year

Over the last two years, the Max Bögl Group has seen strong demand for wind turbines with large hub heights at Max Bögl Wind AG. As a result of the German government's ambitious expansion targets for onshore wind energy, demand is currently rising again continuously. For this reason, the company group will increase its current production capacity of 400 Bögl hybrid towers per year at the two plants in Sengenthal i.d.OPf. and Osterrönfeld on the Kiel Canal to up to 600 towers per year.

Start of production in Emden

In order to expand the current capacity of 400 towers per year, Max Bögl Wind AG is now also manufacturing the successful Hybrid Tower Bögl in standardized series production at the Emden site in close cooperation with Bettels Betonfertigteile. After the ramp-up phase, up to 200 Bögl Hybrid Towers will be manufactured in Emden from 2024. This means that the Max Bögl Group will be able to provide a production capacity of up to 600 towers per year for the European market from next year.

In order to meet the needs of our customers in the long term, the production capacity in the plants for Germany and other European countries can be flexibly increased further through further expansion stages if required. The good strategic location of the plants and their logistical connections to rail, waterways and roads, as well as their proximity to future project locations, will also allow the logistics process to be optimized.

"We are very proud to be able to supply our customers with up to 600 Bögl Hybrid Towers per year from three locations. As the market leader in the production of hybrid towers with large hub heights, we are making a significant contribution to providing the necessary capacities for the rapid expansion of renewable energies. With Bettels, we have a strong cooperation partner with many years of experience in the production of concrete segments made of high-performance concrete."

Stefan Bögl, Chairman of the Max Bögl Group

Knut Bettels, Managing Director of the Bettels Group:

"We, Bettels Betonfertigteil GmbH, are extremely pleased to be able to make an important contribution to the success of the energy transition together with the Max Bögl Group.

In order to meet the constantly growing demand for tower support structures in Germany and Europe, we need to work together as partners and pool production capacities.

Our many years of experience in the production of precast concrete towers, state-of-the-art production technologies and outstanding logistical capabilities make us a valuable partner for the Max Bögl Group.

We are all the more pleased that, in addition to our existing cooperation in the field of steel pipe production, we can now extend this to the manufacture of precast concrete towers."
