Upswing in the wind industry creates new order volume and jobs

Max Bögl Wind AG and turbine manufacturer Nordex extend cooperation agreement to include new N175/6.X turbine

The energy transition is experiencing an upswing: in the first half of 2025, the wind industry commissioned an exceptionally high number of onshore wind turbines. At Max Bögl Wind AG, the positive industry trend is taking concrete form in two developments: the Bavarian tower manufacturer and the wind turbine manufacturer Nordex Group have expanded their joint cooperation. In addition, the positive order situation is creating new jobs and paving the way for the wind industry.

In view of the good order situation, Max Bögl Wind AG and the Nordex Group have concluded a new framework agreement for the coming years. The cooperation has already existed for several years and is now to be further intensified.

"We are delighted that Nordex is also relying on us as a reliable tower partner for its latest N175/6.X turbine. The long-standing cooperation with Nordex is characterized by a trusting collaboration, which we are now continuing and expanding in order to continue to intensively drive forward the energy transition together."

Wind energy on the upswing

The figures published by the German Wind Energy Association in July 2025 confirm the industry's upward trajectory: 409 wind turbines were commissioned in Germany in the first half of the year - a record since 2017. A total wind energy capacity of 7.8 gigawatts was approved during this period, an unprecedented total in a first half-year.

José Luis Blanco, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nordex SE, explains: "In view of our positive market situation and the strong demand for our latest turbine, the N175/6.X with a capacity of up to 7 MW, we are relying on the good partnership with Max Bögl. It is a logical step within our multi-supplier strategy and in the interests of our customers: It will enable us to quickly secure further demand for hybrid towers through additional production capacities."

The plant manufacturer is also relying on Max Bögl's proven hybrid tower system for its new N175 turbine based on Delta4000 T-echnology. Towers with a hub height of up to 179 m are planned for the turbine with a capacity of up to 7 MW. The first prototypes of this promising combination are to be realized in 2026.

Growth creates jobs

The fact that the expansion of wind turbines in Germany is progressing is also making itself felt on the wind industry's labor market: The large order volumes and the associated increase in capacity are creating new career opportunities for skilled workers who want to actively support the energy transition. At the HusumWind trade fair from September 16-19, 2025, Max Bögl will be providing information about career prospects in the wind industry at its stand in Hall 4/4C14.
